Pets and Floor Choice

Laminate flooring is not the best choice if you have dogs. That is, unless you want to see a video of your dog running in one spot on the internet. Dogs have a difficult time getting traction on laminate flooring, especially if they are excited.
Carpet is probably the best flooring for pets. It is easy for them to walk on and comfortable for them to sit on. It does get dirty quickly though from pets paws, and, if your pet sheds, you will always be vacuuming hair out of the carpet.
Tile, though a good surface, is cold for your pet to sit on, but, it is easy to clean. It will not be damaged by your animal's claws, it will stand up well over the years, but, if pet comfort is a main consideration, they will not like tile.
Wood floor will feel warm and comfortable for your pet but unless you apply the correct type of finish, pet claws will quickly damage or mark your floor.
It is not easy choosing the best flooring to use if you have a pet. Take everything into consideration and make the best choice you can.
