After the Flooring

After we got our new floors put in, we had the fun-though slightly daunting-task of deciding on the furniture. Some of our research that we did was, for example, on designer furniture from fashionforhome.com. As we looked at the beautiful pictures, such as of comfortable designer sofas, we started paying attention to the type of flooring under the featured furniture. So we decided to factor flooring into our decisions of where to place the furniture we already had, and also for picking out new pieces of furniture. After all, we had wood flooring on some areas and tile on others, and carpeting upstairs. We otherwise may not have really thought about what worked best on the different flooring. This view of the importance of the flooring also actually helped us plan things out. It gave us a focal point, or more like a canvas, on which to create the furniture arrangements that not only look great but are functional in the best way possible. Now we're so happy and we feel really good in our house. It's amazing how expanding your awareness of things helps you make better use of things and also appreciate them more…even flooring! All things considered, it's actually the basis of the home, isn't it?
